      The Students and Staff of Brahma Valley Institute of Management visited the Plant of Mahindra and Mahindra located at Satpur, Nasik, on the 11th of Nov, 2013. The visit commenced with a video clipping of the company for everyone.

      The company, which has a history as old as the independence of our country, has made its mark in the area of roadways, waterways and airways. Besides manufacturing four wheelers and two wheelers, Mahindra also manufactures aircrafts and has its department stores in different parts of the country. It proudly boasts of its achievements in the Finance and IT sector as well. In the year 2013, Mahindra has crossed a turnover of Rs.12.5 billion. It has a wide range of products in four wheelers which have successfully captured the national and international markets. To name a few are Scorpio, Xylo, Maximo, Duro, Hybrid and so on. The Nashik plant is the only plant that manufactures the Scorpio and Xylo; which besides being sold in the domestic market have captured markets of 43 countries around the world.

      It was enlightening to know about the social awareness activities carried out by Mahindra and Mahindra. To name just a few are AIDS awareness and blood donation campaigns, Plantation and drip irrigation, Rain water harvesting and so much more!

      It was with awe and a keen desire to learn about the various processes of production and the assembly line that the students and staff entered the factory area, strictly adhering to the precautionary measures.

      The first process to be observed was the assembly line of the 'Verito' where robotic machines lifted and welded the body of the automobile. The technique used was the latest in welding called spot welding, where current passed between the joints heats them and binds them together. The visit ended with the observation of the assembly line of the Scorpio/Xylo.

      The visit to Mahindra and Mahindra, Nasik, was definitely an experience that left everyone at BVIM with a feeling of pride and hope for the future to come; for the company as well as our country picking up at a rapid pace!!
